The right size depends on where the sign will be placed and how far away people will be when they need to read it. As a general guide, smaller signs around 225 x 300mm work well in indoor or close quarters settings such as offices, storerooms, or plant rooms. Mid range sizes around 300 x 450mm suit most general workplace applications including warehouses, workshops, and factories. Larger signs around 400 x 600mm are best for site entrances, outdoor perimeter fencing, or areas where workers need to see signage from a distance. If you are unsure, consider the busiest viewing angle and how quickly someone approaching the area needs to read the message.

We supply a full range of WHS compliant safety signs for Australian construction, industrial, and commercial workplaces. What are safety signs made from, and which material should I choose?
Our safety signs are available in two materials: ACM (aluminium composite material) and Corflute. ACM is a rigid, weather resistant panel built for long term outdoor use. It holds up well against sun, rain, and temperature extremes, and typically lasts 5 to 10 years outdoors, making it the better choice for permanent installations at site entrances, fenced areas, or exposed locations. Corflute is a lightweight, cost effective option printed with UV resistant inks, suited to temporary signage, short term projects, or sheltered indoor areas. It generally lasts 2 to 3 years outdoors. Both materials produce clear, highly visible signage for Australian workplaces.

Prohibition signs restrict an action, such as no entry, no smoking or no forklifts, while danger signs identify an immediate hazard where the risk is likely to be life threatening, such as asbestos or high voltage.
