Who is this for

The RHM Respirator Twin Filter Half Mask is used by construction workers, concreters, demolition workers, painters, spray operators, woodworkers, tradespeople, and industrial workers who need reliable respiratory protection against dust, particles, and airborne contaminants during work. Certified to AS/NZS 1716, it meets the Australian and New Zealand standard for respiratory protective devices and is suited to environments where airborne particle hazards are present, including concrete grinding and cutting, sanding, spray painting, chemical handling, and demolition of older structures where silica dust, fibres, or fumes are a risk. The included P2 filter kit provides protection against fine particles including silica dust, which is a significant occupational health concern on Australian construction and civil sites under WHS legislation. The soft TPR face seal, adjustable elastic straps, and exhalation valve make it practical for extended wear during physically demanding work, and the reusable half mask construction makes it a more cost-effective long-term solution than disposable respirators for workers with regular exposure.

Frequently asked questions

Can our company logo be printed on hard hats?

Yes, we offer custom printing on hard hats to include your company name, logo, or branding. Printed hard hats are a popular choice for construction companies, mining operations, and civil contractors who want to identify their crew clearly on site and maintain a consistent branded appearance with clients, subcontractors, and visitors. The print is applied directly to the shell and is designed to be durable in outdoor worksite conditions. Get in touch with your logo file and the quantity you need and we will provide a quote and turnaround time.

What hard hats does Brute Safety Products supply?

We supply vented hard hats in two harness configurations: pin lock and ratchet. Both versions feature a six point pre-assembled harness and ventilation slots to improve airflow and comfort in hot Australian conditions. The pin lock version uses a simple push and click size adjustment, while the ratchet version allows quick and precise fitting via a dial mechanism at the rear of the harness. Both hard hats are certified to AS/NZS 1801. Hard hats are available in a range of colours and can be custom printed with your company logo.

How long does a hard hat last, and when should it be replaced?

Under Australian guidelines, hard hats should generally be replaced every two to three years from the date of first use, or immediately if the shell or harness is cracked, dented, penetrated, or shows any signs of damage from an impact. UV exposure, chemical contact, and heat can all degrade the polycarbonate shell over time, even if no visible damage is present. The manufacture date is typically stamped inside the shell. Hard hats that have sustained a significant impact should be replaced even if damage is not visible, as the internal structure may have been compromised. Check the manufacturer's guidelines printed inside your hard hat for specific replacement intervals.

What is the difference between a pin lock and a ratchet hard hat?

The difference is in how the internal harness is adjusted to fit the wearer's head. A pin lock hard hat uses a series of fixed adjustment positions, which you push and click through to find the closest fit. It is a straightforward and reliable mechanism that is easy to use with gloves on. A ratchet hard hat uses a dial or knob at the back of the harness that can be turned to fine tune the fit precisely and quickly. The ratchet system is generally considered more comfortable for extended wear as it allows a more accurate fit, but both mechanisms are equally compliant and effective at providing head protection.
