Who is this for

The Reflective Line 100m is used by mine site safety officers, blast crews, traffic management supervisors, and civil site managers to establish retroreflective no-go zone boundaries and site demarcation lines across large areas where both day and night visibility is required. The 100 metre length suits open cut mine site blast exclusion zones, large plant operating exclusion areas, haul road no-go zones, and any large perimeter application where the 25 metre version would require frequent joining. The alternating red and white PVC tags carry Class 400 retroreflective tape on both sides, and the crimped tag construction prevents grouping so that the full length of the line maintains consistent reflective performance. It is strung between star pickets, posts, or bollards and provides a durable, reusable boundary line capable of remaining in place across extended operational periods in demanding outdoor conditions.

Additional Information

The BMT 016 Reflective Line Red/White 100m demarcates no-go zones, worksite boundaries, and hazardous areas across Australian construction, mining, and industrial worksites in both daylight and low light conditions. Alternating red and white PVC tags feature Class 400 retro-reflective silver and red tape on both sides, and are crimped to prevent grouping and allow movement in the wind for continuous light reflection. Supplied in a 100m length on a durable PVC coated nylon core line.

Common across construction, mining, and manufacturing, it is ideal for stringing between star pickets, posts, T-top bollards, and fence lines where extra visibility is required around plant, equipment, and site hazards.

Frequently asked questions

What marking and barrier tape products does Brute Safety Products supply?

We supply three types of tape for Australian construction, civil, and survey applications. Barrier tape is a non adhesive polyethylene tape used to cordon off hazardous areas, restrict access, or communicate specific warnings on site. It is available in yellow caution, yellow and black striped, red and white striped, and red and white danger do not enter styles, each 75mm wide and 100 metres long. Survey flagging tape is a lightweight, hand tearable PVC tape available in seven colours (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, and white), used to mark boundaries, utilities, and site features. Reflective tape is our 3M Diamond Grade 4000 Series, available in 50mm and 70mm widths in yellow and white, for permanent high visibility marking on vehicles, plant, and structures.

What is the difference between barrier tape and survey flagging tape?

Barrier tape and flagging tape serve different purposes on site. Barrier tape is wider at 75mm, printed with warning text or colour coded striping, and is designed to physically mark off a hazardous area or restricted zone. It is strung between posts, fences, or fixed points to create a visible cordon that communicates a clear message such as caution, danger, or do not enter. Survey flagging tape is much narrower at 25mm, comes in a wide range of colours, and is tied or wrapped around stakes, pegs, or vegetation to mark specific points or boundaries for survey, civil, or utility work. Flagging tape is not intended to act as a physical barrier, but rather as a quick and highly visible marker that can be read and removed easily.

What do the different colours of survey flagging tape mean?

Colour conventions for survey flagging tape vary by industry, company, and state, but there are widely recognised informal standards used across Australian civil and construction work. Red is commonly used for electrical or power infrastructure, yellow for gas lines, blue for water mains, green for sewer or drainage, white for proposed work or design boundaries, orange for survey controls or communications, and pink for temporary markings or areas requiring further investigation. Because these conventions are not universally standardised in Australia, it is good practice to confirm the colour coding system being used with your project team or principal contractor at the start of each job.

What is 3M Diamond Grade reflective tape and where is it used?

The 3M Diamond Grade 4000 Series is a premium reflective tape rated to Class 1000, which is the highest retroreflective performance classification available. It uses a structured lens design that returns significantly more light to the driver or observer compared to standard reflective materials, making it highly effective in low light, night time, and wet conditions. It is commonly applied to commercial vehicles, heavy plant and equipment, trailers, site structures, and any asset that needs to be clearly visible after dark or in poor visibility. The tape has a durable pressure sensitive adhesive backing for permanent application and is available in fluorescent yellow and white in 50mm and 70mm widths, each roll covering 45.7 metres.

Is barrier tape reusable, and how long does it last outdoors?

Barrier tape is designed as a temporary, single use product rather than a permanent installation. Once deployed and exposed to weather, UV, and physical contact on a worksite, the material can stretch, tear, or lose its printed clarity, so we recommend using fresh tape for each new application rather than attempting to reuse it. Our barrier tape is made from polyethylene with UV weather resistant properties, which helps it maintain visibility and structural integrity throughout a typical project duration. For long term or permanent area demarcation, safety signage or hard barriers are a more appropriate solution.
