Who is this for

Heavy Duty Welding Gloves are used by welders, boilermakers, fabricators, and maintenance tradespeople in workshops, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, mining operations, and any environment where welding, cutting, or grinding exposes hands and forearms to heat, sparks, and molten metal spatter. The A grade cow split leather construction and full cotton lining provide the heat resistance and comfort needed for sustained welding work, and the 40cm cuff extends protection significantly up the forearm beyond what a standard glove provides. Certification to EN 407 for heat resistance confirms the glove meets recognised international standards for thermal hazard protection in industrial welding environments.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right glove for the task?

The right glove depends on the specific hazard your workers are exposed to. For general construction, handling materials, and rigging work, leather rigger gloves provide good abrasion and puncture resistance. For tasks involving sharp edges, steel fixing, or glass handling, cut resistant gloves rated to Level E offer the highest level of cut protection available. For welding and heat exposure, purpose built welding gloves with an extended cuff are the appropriate choice. For chemical handling, liquid exposure, or cleaning tasks, PVC chemical gloves provide a waterproof barrier. Nitrile examination gloves suit tasks requiring dexterity and hygiene, such as first aid, inspection work, or light handling. If you are unsure which glove suits a specific task, get in touch and we can advise.

What gloves does Brute Safety Products supply?

We supply a range of work gloves to suit different tasks and hazard types. The range includes Icon Rigger Gloves in cow leather for general site work, Max 5 Cut Resistant Gloves with Level E cut protection and a PU coated palm for grip, Heavy Duty Welding Gloves in A grade cow split leather with a 40cm cuff certified to EN 407, Double Coated PVC Chemical Gloves with an interlock lining for chemical and liquid handling, and Black and Blue Nitrile Examination Gloves in 100 pair bulk packs for light duty or hygiene sensitive tasks. We also stock the Interlock Glove Clip to keep gloves accessible and prevent loss on site.

What does Level E cut resistance mean on gloves?

Level E is the highest cut resistance rating under the EN ISO 13997 standard used to classify protective gloves. Our Max 5 Cut Resistant Gloves are rated Level E, meaning the glove material has been tested to withstand significant cutting force before the blade penetrates the fabric. This makes them suitable for high risk tasks involving sharp edges, blades, sheet metal, steel reinforcement, or glass. The gloves also feature a PU coated palm and fingertips for grip and are touchscreen compatible, which allows workers to use mobile devices or site tablets without removing them. Despite the high cut rating, they remain relatively lightweight and flexible compared to heavier duty cut protection options.

Are nitrile gloves suitable for use on construction and industrial sites?

Nitrile examination gloves are best suited to tasks that require dexterity, cleanliness, or protection from light contamination rather than heavy physical work. On construction and industrial sites, they are commonly used for first aid response, inspection work, paint or adhesive handling, and any task where the worker needs tactile sensitivity without exposure to chemicals or biological materials. They are not designed to replace rigger, cut resistant, or chemical gloves where mechanical or heavy duty chemical protection is required. Our nitrile gloves are powder free, ambidextrous, and available in black or blue in 100 pair bulk packs, making them practical for stocking a site first aid kit or toolbox.
